INDIANAPOLIS — Antonio Galindez has been named president and chief executive officer of Dow AgroSciences. Formerly vice-president of crops business, Mr. Galindez takes over for Jereome Peribere, who has become president and c.e.o. of Dow’s advanced materials division.
Mr. Galindez will report to Heinz Haller, executive vice-president of performance products. The transition will take place over the next 60 days.
Mr. Galindez joined Dow in 1983 as field sales representative for agricultural products in Spain. He held various marketing and business positions in Europe, including country manager for Spain and Portugal and human resources director for Europe.
In 1997 he moved to Indianapolis and became global business leader in the agrochemical business. He was named vice-president of the Latin America trade area in 2002 and then became vice-president for Europe, Latin America and the Pacific regions in 2002. Mr. Galindez was named global vice-president of crops business in 2006.
Mr. Galindez received an agricultural engineering degree from Madrid University in Spain and a master’s of science degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
