ATLANTA — The Kellogg Co. initiated a recall of two products within its Eggo brand — Cinnamon Toast waffles and Toaster Swirlz — that were manufactured at the company’s facility in Atlanta. The recall was initiated after the Georgia Department of Agriculture found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample taken from Kellogg’s Buttermilk Eggo Waffles manufactured at the plant. None of the Buttermilk product was shipped into the marketplace.

The company also ceased production at the facility and has begun an investigation to determine the cause of the contamination. The Kellogg Co. will initiate a "hygienic restoration plan" with the Georgia Department of Agriculture before it resumes production at the plant.

The company said it is cooperating with the Georgia Department of Agriculture and has not set a date for when the facility will resume production.

No illnesses have been associated with any of the products involved in the recall.
