CHICAGO — Peter Blommer has been named president and chief operating officer of Blommer Chocolate Co., North America’s largest cocoa bean processor and ingredient chocolate products supplier. Mr. Blommer, who most recently was c.o.o., will be responsible for setting strategic direction for the company and for overall execution of its business plan.

Peter Blommer joined the Blommer Chocolate Co. in 1991 as plant manager of the Union City, Calif., facility. He was named c.o.o. in 2003. Prior to joining Blommer, he worked in investment banking and, later, in strategic planning and business analysis for the Dole Food Co.
Mr. Blommer received an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
