OAK BROOK, ILL. — Same-store sales for McDonald’s restaurants worldwide increased 4.8% in November, compared with a 0.7% increase during the same month of the previous year. Worldwide sales rose 4.7%, or 6.1% in constant currencies.
“McDonald’s continued strong performance reflects the benefits of our global alignment around the Plan to Win,” said Jim Skinner, chief executive officer. “Contemporary locations, quality food and beverages at an outstanding value and operations excellence continue to be the key ingredients to becoming our customers’ favorite place and way to eat and drink.”
U.S. same-store sales rose by 4.9% with growth attributed to the McRib sandwich, continued strong demand for McCafe beverages and everyday value throughout the meal.
In Europe, same-store sales rose 4.9%, and in Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, same-store sales grew by 2.4%. Sales in Australia and China attributed to this growth the latter region’s growth.
Global same-store sales were up 5.2% year-to-date, and total sales for restaurants around the world has grown by 7.2%.
