PLANT CITY, FLA. — Toufayan Bakery, Inc. is planning a major expansion at its bakery in Plant City that will increase square footage to more than 200,000 square feet from 120,000 previously, according to The Tampa Tribune. Expansion at the facility, which makes cookies, hot dogs and hamburger buns, will include a new production line and warehouse space, the Tribune said. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by June, with the second phase expected to be completed in November. Founded in 1926, Toufayan Bakery also makes pita, pitettes, Mediterranean flatbreads and bagels. In addition to Plant City, the company has bread and cake plants in Orlando, Fla., and Ridgefield, N.J.
