The company is introducing the loaves in supermarkets throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, and in select markets in Georgia, including Atlanta, and Alabama, including Birmingham.
The bread is available in the three varieties of Healthy Multi-Grain, 12-Grain and 100% Whole Wheat. It is free of high-fructose corn syrup and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors. The suggested retail price ranges from $2.99 to $3.69.
“This new loaf is ideal for consumers who love hearty bread but want slices that are closer in size to traditional sandwich bread,” said Brent Bradshaw, brand manager, Flowers Foods. “Premium Specialty breads are also more practical for health-conscious consumers who prefer the dense texture and great taste of specialty bread but want a smaller slice with fewer calories.
“The new size also provides a longer loaf that has more slices than traditional specialty bread. Consumers responded well to the concept in research, and we expect this to translate to excitement at the shelf.”
