LENEXA, KAS. — Products in a new Pristine line encompass a variety of bases and functional ingredients that are intended to create cleaner label products, according to Caravan Ingredients, Lenexa. The bases have been shown to work in any yeast-raised bread products as well as tortillas. The functional ingredients allow for strengthening without the use of chemical conditioners.

For one example, the Pristine artisan Italian base, a 4% base, may be used in producing Italian and ciabatta bread and rolls as well as baguettes. The base works well with automated equipment.
