QUINCY, MASS. — Bay State Milling Co. has finalized the acquisition of Platteville, Colo.-based Rocky Mountain Milling, L.L.C., positioning Bay State as the largest miller of organic flour in the United States. Bay State has been part owner and manager of Rocky Mountain Milling since 1999 and has held a majority ownership since 2007. “Rocky Mountain Milling has been a terrific partnering opportunity and success story for Bay State Milling,” said Peter F. Levangie, president and chief operating officer of Bay State. “We are excited to formally bring the Platteville assets into our network. The plant and our team there will play an increasingly important role in our growth.” Rocky Mountain has daily wheat flour capacity of 3,500 cwts and storage capacity of 500,000, according to the 2009 Grain & Milling Annual.
