BUFFALO, N.Y. — Rich Products Corp. has purchased property on more than 17 acres in Lithonia, Ga., that includes a 189,000-square foot manufacturing facility. It is in an industrial area within a half mile of Interstate 20 and about a 15-minute drive from downtown Atlanta. Rich Products will determine how best to use the site later this year.
“As we continue to expand our presence in the Southeast, we identified the property in Lithonia as an excellent opportunity to obtain a quality manufacturing structure in a strategic location,” said Dwight Gram, vice-president of communications for Buffalo-based Rich Products. “While there are no immediate plans for the site, it’s a structure that can be ramped up fairly quickly to produce various products consistent with our broad portfolio.”
The facility opened in 1970 when Gold Kist used it to process poultry. PET bought the building in 1980 and expanded to make pie shells, cookies, waffles, tortillas and burritos. Miller International Baking bought the building in 2004 and made biscuits before falling into foreclosure two years ago.
