PHILADELPHIA — FMC BioPolymer, a division of FMC Corp., said it will raise the price on all FMC branded microcrystalline cellulose, carrageenan and alginate-based products by up to 15%, or as contracts permit, effective Jan. 1, 2012.
“While FMC BioPolymer continues to identify and implement productivity improvement programs to mitigate the impact of rising costs, continued increases in raw materials, energy and transportation costs make this pricing action necessary in order to continue to provide the highest quality products to the food, personal care, industrial and pharmaceutical industries,” the company said.
