The scholarship will go to two undergraduate students enrolled in the Milling Science and Management program in the department of Grain Science and Industry at K.S.U. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship. A $25,000 grant given by Cargill and Horizon Milling over the course of five years will fund the scholarship.

“We are very fortunate to have Cargill and Horizon Milling provide this scholarship for our Milling Science and Management students,” said Dirk Maier, professor and head of the Grain Science Department at K.S.U. “This will give our students significant financial help as they work toward their degrees.”

Troy Anderson, vice-president of operations at Horizon Milling, added Cargill and Horizon Milling “are committed to supporting education and developing future leaders, particularly in the area of agriculture.”

“The deserving students who receive these scholarships will ultimately benefit our communities by utilizing the skills they develop in the Milling Science and Management program at K.S.U.,” Mr. Anderson said. “We’re honored to have the opportunity to play a role in that.”
