CLAYTON, N.C. — Clive Tolson has been named president of Turkington USA, a maker of industrial bakery equipment. Mr. Tolson, formerly senior vice-president of sales and marketing, succeeds John Lucas, who has been put in charge of heading up the company’s business development.
Mr. Tolson has been with Turkington USA and its previous parent APV Baker for more than 25 years and brings food industry and general management experience to the role.
“We have a number of strategic opportunities that we need to focus on as a group, and we have decided to apply our most senior and experienced executive to lead those tasks,” said Stuart Ashman, chief executive officer of Turkington. “John has great deal of experience in engineering and manufacturing as well as in business development in emerging markets. His appointment reflects the importance we attach to those activities for the future of the business. We are fortunate to have someone of Clive’s caliber ready to take the helm at our USA business. As well as directing the geographic expansion of our business in prior years, he has been closely involved in all aspects of our planning and operations. He is ideally placed to follow on from John as head of Turkington USA.”
