MAYSVILLE, OKLA. — Donald Ray Ivey, sales manager at Burford Corp. and past president of BEMA, died April 8. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Ivey began his career at Burford Corp. in 1965, where he worked in nearly every position of the company, including his most recent position of sales manager. He managed the company’s office in Windsor, England, from 1972 to 1975 and traveled the world selling and installing Burford equipment.
He was president of BEMA in 1994-95 and a member of the American Society of Baking.
Last December, Mr. Ivey received the Lifetime Achievement Award from BEMA. The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest award presented to any of the association’s members.
“He was a valuable asset to the company till the day he died,” said Fred Springer, president and chief executive officer of Burford Corp. “He will be missed by many not only for his trusting friendship but the valuable historical information of the baking industry.”
Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 12, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Maysville.
