CHEYENNE WELLS, COLO. — Cargill has agreed to acquire certain assets of TradeOne, L.L.C., a grain storage and merchandising company based in Cheyenne Wells. Pending completion of the agreement, effective June 11 Cargill will own and operate the former TradeOne elevator in Cheyenne Wells, which has 2 million bus of storage capacity. Additionally, Cargill will originate, store and merchandise grain at four former TradeOne elevators, including three in the Colorado towns of Lamar, Granada and Holly and one in Tribune, Kas.

As part of the agreement, Northern Ag Service, Inc. will own and operate those four elevators. Cargill will purchase grain at the locations and serve as the primary contact for customers. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This agreement enhances our ability to serve producers in eastern Colorado,” said Barry Bauer, Cargill AgHorizons farm service group leader for the Great Plains region. “The addition of these assets into our existing grain handling network adds significant storage capacity and convenience for local growers during the busy harvest time.”
