ZURICH, SWITZERLAND — Underlying revenue fell 0.2% at Aryzta AG in the first quarter ended Oct. 30, dragged down by declines of 2.4% in Food Europe and 1.4% in Food North America. Despite the revenue declines, Aryzta said its acquisitions will continue to encourage revenue growth, noting that the group “is unlocking the opportunity and potential across its newly enlarged customer base.” In North America, Aryzta said it is focusing on capturing the full potential of its enlarged U.S. bakery business through the development of a national platform with key customer relationships, a broad product portfolio, substantial manufacturing footprint and experienced committed people. “In this regard, the combination of Otis Spunkmeyer, Pennant Foods and Sweet Life has commenced in Q2,” the company said. “These are complementary businesses with shared cultures, products, capabilities, customer channels and relationships.”
