NEW YORK — Kind Healthy Snacks is expanding its product line with the launch of Kind Nuts & Spices, a line of whole nut bars with 5 grams of sugar or less.

“Today’s consumers want and need lower sugar options, and until now, the only choices in this category included sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners which compromise both taste and nutritional value,” said Daniel Lubetzky, founder and chief executive officer of Kind. “At Kind, we strive to challenge false compromises. We believe in healthy and tasty, convenient and wholesome, socially impactful and economically sustainable. In that spirit, we created Kind Nuts & Spices to further our commitment to offering people foods that combine great taste with positive nutrition, and we achieve this by using only the finest all natural and premium ingredients.”

Kind Nuts & Spices will be available in the following four varieties: dark chocolate nuts and sea salt, which provides 7 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein and 5 grams of sugar; Madagascar vanilla almond, which provides 7 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 4 grams of sugar; dark chocolate cinnamon pecan, which has 7 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of sugar; and cashew and ginger spice, which has 6 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 4 grams of sugar.

All four flavor varieties will be available on www.Kindsnacks.com and at grocers nationwide beginning June 2012. The suggested retail price is $1.99 per bar and $23.88 per case (12 bars).
