ARLINGTON, VA. — Tyler Jameson has joined U.S. Wheat Associates as assistant director of policy effective Jan. 10. Mr. Jameson will provide support for trade policy issues, food aid, biotechnology and trade with sanctioned countries. In addition, he will serve as a liaison to partner organizations and other trade associations.
Prior to joining U.S. Wheat, Mr. Jameson was a legislative assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture where he monitored developments in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s export promotion programs, including the Market Access Program and the Foreign Market Development program. He also was involved with sanctioned country trade legislation and monitored regulations impacting the trade of goods produced through biotechnology. In addition, Mr. Jameson coordinated a congressional delegation to Asia to promote U.S. agricultural trade.
“We are excited to have Tyler join our policy department,” said Shannon Schlecht, director of policy at U.S. Wheat. “His knowledge of agricultural trade initiatives and experience will enable us to expand our ability to monitor and influence policy issues affecting U.S. wheat exports.”
Mr. Jameson received bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology from Shepherd University in West Virginia.
