WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken in October was 226,103,000 lbs, down 1% from September but up 2% from October 2010, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
October production of edible liquid whole eggs was 146,683,000 lbs, up 3% from September and up slightly from 146,592,000 lbs in October 2010; liquid whites were 52,780,000 lbs, down 7% from September but up 5% from October 2010; liquid yolks were 26,640,000 lbs, down 9% from September but up 3% from October 2010; and inedible production was 19,917,000 lbs, up 3% from September and up 7% from October 2010.
Shell eggs broken in October were 174,137,000 dozen, down 1% from September and from October 2010.
January – October production of edible whole eggs was 1,381,601,000 lbs, down 3% from the same period of the previous year; whites were 577,787,000 lbs, up 5%; yolks were 294,934,000 lbs, up 8%; and total edible liquid was 2,254,322,000 lbs, up slightly from 2,243,427,000 lbs the previous year.
