KANSAS CITY — Steve Long has been promoted to vice-president of purchasing at Hostess Brands, Inc. In his new role, he will be responsible for corporate purchasing and contracting activities for various goods and services, including raw materials, packaging, in-direct bakery spend and capital equipment.
Mr. Long has been director of packaging procurement at Hostess since the brand’s relaunch in 2013. Earlier, he was director of general procurement at Hostess from 1994 to 2013. Prior to Hostess, he was raw material purchasing supervisor at Russell Stover Candies, Inc. for five years, and before that he spent four years as purchasing manager at Coca-Cola Bottling.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
Rob Kissick, senior vice-president of purchasing at Hostess, will work to transition his purchasing-related responsibilities over to Mr. Long over the next few weeks. Following the transition period, Mr. Kissick is expected to shift his focus to the ongoing management of Hostess’s co-manufacturing relationships and other special projects.
