KARLSHAMN, SWEDEN — AAK plans to invest in a customization plant in the Philippines that initially will focus on systems within special nutrition, chocolate and confectionery fats, and dairy. Eventually Karlshamn-based AAK expects to be able to supply systems within other segments as well from the plant, which should be operational by the end of the year.
“This will strengthen our position in yet another important Asian market,” said Torben Friis Lange, president of Asia for AAK. “The customization plant will be closely located to many of our key customers and offers a very good inbound and outbound logistics for the Philippine market.”
The plant will be located on land owned by oils and fats refinery San Pablo Manufacturing Co. in Batangas, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Manila.
