PLANO, TEXAS — To celebrate some of America’s most beloved dishes, Lay’s is introducing eight new potato chip varieties that reflect regional cuisine from across the United States. Part of PepsiCo Inc.’s Frito-Lay division, this is the largest roll-out of new flavors in the brand’s history.

“Lay’s knows how significant local cuisine is to Americans,” said Sarah Guzman, senior director of marketing, Lay’s. “From Fried Pickles with Ranch in the Midwest to Deep Dish Pizza in the Heartland or Cajun Spice in the Central Gulf, we wanted to honor the beloved flavors that remind our fans of home by making ‘Tastes of America’ our biggest flavor launch yet.”

The “Tastes of America” lineup includes:  

Chile con queso

Chile Con Queso

Packing in the flavor of a Tex-Mex favorite from the Southwest, Chile Con Queso combines velvety cheddar queso with a dash of spice into one chip.

Cajun Spice

Cajun Spice

Drawing from classic Gulf Coast dishes, such as jambalaya and blackened Cajun chicken, Cajun Spice includes a garlic, paprika, onion and oregano seasoning.

Crab

Chesapeake Bay Crab Spice

This Mid-Atlantic flavor is inspired by crab shacks along the Atlantic and contains a custom-blend of spices.

Deep Dish

Deep Dish Pizza

Chicago-based pizzeria Giordano’s can be tasted in this ode to cheesy deep dish pizzas.  

Fried Pickles

Fried Pickles with Ranch

Taking consumers straight to the Midwest, Fried Pickles with Ranch represent a state fair favorite.

Lobster

New England Lobster Roll

Consumers can find the flavors of fresh lobster served on a buttery grilled roll in this variety influenced by the Northeast.   

Pimento

Pimento Cheese

Drawing from a Southeast staple, this flavor combines creamy sharp cheddar with a hint of cayenne pepper.

Thai Sweet Chile

Thai Sweet Chili

A blend of sweet chili sauce with a hint of heat, this chip was inspired by the food truck scene in the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to these new flavors, Lay’s is bringing back other fan favorites that include Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries, Ketchup and Wavy Fried Green Tomato.

To promote the launch, the brand will make stops throughout the United States on a Tastes of America tour hosted by YouTube star Hannah Hart. Each variety will be available at retail stores July 30 – Sept. 23 and online beginning July 30.
