NEW YORK — Virginie Costa has joined Godiva Chocolatier as chief financial officer, effective Aug. 6. In her new role, Ms. Costa will be responsible for leading Godiva’s global finance team and become part of the company’s global executive committee.
Ms. Costa joins Godiva from Burberry Americas, where she was chief financial and operations officer since 2011. Before that, she spent 10 years at Hermes International SA, most recently as senior vice-president, c.f.o. and c.o.o. for Hermes of Paris. Earlier in her career, Ms. Costa spent time with Groupe Canal+, Arthur Anderson and KPMG.
“We are thrilled to have Virginie join our executive team,” said Annie Young-Scrivner, chief executive officer of Godiva. “She brings strong leadership experience in modernizing and building finance and operations teams to drive productivity and profitability. Virginie joining the team further demonstrates our commitment to supporting women in leadership, as 50% of my global executive committee will now be female.”
Ms. Costa will succeed current c.f.o. Selim Baraz, who has decided to leave Godiva after six years.
