Connecting with Generation Z
Generation Z, which consists of consumers age 11 to 23, is expected to drive significant change in the food and beverage marketplace.
At a presentation by Mintel, Dana Macke, associate director of Lifestyle & Leisure Report, explained how this demographic is at the forefront of emerging trends and is interested in trying unfamiliar foods with better-for-you features.
“When it comes to Generation Z, there is an opportunity to have formulations that are better-for-you,” said Jenny Zegler, associate director of Mintel Food & Drink. “They have been raised to think about health and wellness, but they’ve also been raised at a time when health and wellness means a lot of things.”
