LONDON — Real Good Food has sold Haydens Bakery Limited to London-based Bakkavor Group for $15.5 million (£12 million).
Through this acquisition, Bakkavor will be able to extend its product offerings at in-store bakeries, support growth within its desserts business and increase its operating capacity.
Working from two sites in Devizes and Wiltshire, England, Haydens manufactures dessert products for UK grocery retailers and foodservice establishments. Its product range includes pies, donuts, pastries and sweet buns. To support its development, Haydens recently expanded its operations and updated its equipment through a $19.4 million (£15 million) capital investment.
Bakkavor, a prepared foods supplier, offers products in four categories: meal, salad, dessert and pizza and bread. The company’s chief executive officer, Agust Gudmundsson, said the deal will enhance the business’s lineup of sweet goods.
“This acquisition will grow both our capacity and product offering in the desserts category, and we are delighted to be welcoming Haydens’ management and the wider team to our business,” he said.
