CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Donuts is debuting its first coffee beverage in a can: Shot in the Dark coffee espresso blend. Manufactured and distributed by the Coca-Cola Co., the canned coffee follows Dunkin’s launch of bottled iced coffee beverages two years ago.
Each 8.1-oz slim can of Shot in the Dark contains 80 calories and is made with a blend
of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, espresso, cream and sugar. The beverages are available in caramel, mocha and vanilla flavors.
“Our fans have loved our ready-to-drink (R.-T.-D.) iced coffees as a great way to power through their day with Dunkin’ anytime and anywhere,” said Brian Gilbert, vice-president of retail business development for Dunkin’ Donuts. “Now, for the coffee-loving consumers who want something a little bolder than a traditional cup of coffee, but not as strong as a shot of espresso, our Shot in the Dark creates an exciting and energizing new option when on-the-go.”
Dunkin’ also is expanding its bottled iced coffee lineup this month with the launch of a new pumpkin spice flavor. The seasonal offering joins original, mocha, espresso, French vanilla and cookies & cream varieties in Dunkin’s R.-T.-D. iced coffee portfolio, which is made with Arabica coffee blends, milk and sugar.
