WASHINGTON — The American Bakers Association and the Grain Foods Foundation have teamed up to provide bakers with resources for promoting National Bread Month on social media. The toolkit includes key promotional information, images and sample social media posts.
National Bread Month begins in November and aims to educate consumers about the health benefits and convenience of grain-based foods. During this time, the A.B.A. is urging its members to deliver cohesive and informative messaging through social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
In addition to encouraging bread consumption throughout November, the toolkit has selected three dates that bakeries can promote their brand’s products around: National Sandwich Day on Nov. 3; Veteran’s Day on Nov. 12; and Thanksgiving on Nov. 22. The resource also provides more than 20 messages baking companies can use to spread the word about bread’s benefits and encourages bakeries to use specific hashtags to increase a post’s visibility.
