NEW YORK — Starbucks Coffee Co. has opened Starbucks Reserve Roastery New York, its fourth Roastery and second location in the United States. The other Roastery locations are in Seattle; Shanghai, China; and Milan, Italy. The company also will open sites in Tokyo and Chicago in 2019.
“We designed the Roastery as the pinnacle experience around all-things-coffee, and there is nothing else like it in the world,” said Kevin R. Johnson, chief executive officer of Starbucks. “With premium coffees, teas, mixology and the iconic Milanese Princi Bakery, it serves as a Starbucks brand amplifier and a platform for future innovation. Beverages such as Draft Nitro, Cold Foam and the recent launch of Juniper Latte all began at the Roastery and have since been introduced to Starbucks locations around the world. It is the ultimate Starbucks Experience and an unforgettable way to connect with our customers.”
The 23,000-square-foot Roastery is a working coffee roastery, where trained roasters will small-batch roast Starbucks’ single-origin coffees and blends called Starbucks Reserve. The coffees will then be served at the Roastery or shipped to select Starbucks locations around the world.
The New York Roastery will feature Starbucks’ first U.S. Arriviamo Bar. Inspired by the Italian tradition of aperitivo, this craft cocktail bar is located inside the Roastery where mixologists will serve cocktails featuring coffee and tea.
The Roastery also includes two coffee bars and a Princi bakery, which bakes fresh bread, pizza, cornetti, focaccias and desserts.
