MILAN — The Italian bakery Bassini 1963 has acquired Glaxi Pane, a frozen baked foods supplier. The companies will consolidate to become Bassini 1963 – Glaxi Pane, allowing the group to strengthen its position in the region and offer products in new sales channels. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Forlì, Italy, Bassini creates artisanal bakery products, including frozen, precooked and raw bread, focaccias, sandwiches and pizzas. The brand is owned by Antico Forno della Romagna.
Glaxi Pane supplies a range of frozen bakery items to the Italian food service industry.
The acquisition of Glaxi Pane was completed by Antico Forno della Romagna, with the support of its majority shareholders Orienta Partners, Indigo Capital and Fondo Agroalimentare Italiano. The shareholders of Glaxi Pane, including Silvio Galante, Annamaria Stocco, Andrea Stocco and Andriano Schiavo also have reinvested in the group.
The establishment of Bassini 1963 – Glaxi Pane creates a strong client base across retail and food service channels for the new organization. The group said it will leverage its portfolio of bakery products, longstanding experiences in the food sector and three production facilities to quickly respond to its customers’ needs. Going forward the group wants to explore new growth opportunities and focus on enhancing commercial synergies.
