LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — Seth Weis has been named senior vice-president of business development at the Hain Celestial Group, Inc. In his new role, he will be responsible for implementing the company’s business transformation strategy to streamline its product portfolio, strengthen capabilities, revive sales growth in the United States and expand margins and cash flow.
Mr. Weis will report directly to Mark L. Schiller, president and chief executive officer.
He joins Hain Celestial from TreeHouse Foods, Inc., where most recently he was vice-president, corporate development and corporate officer. There, he led cross-functional business teams to complete five acquisitions and two divestitures, improving the company’s annual revenue. Previously, Mr. Weis was vice-president at Glencoe Capital Management, L.L.C., a private equity firm focusing on lower middle market buyouts, growth equity and co-investments. He also was vice-president at Duff & Phelps, L.L.C., providing corporate finance and investment banking services across a broad range of industries. He began his career in finance at PriceWaterHouseCoopers L.L.P.
At Hain Celestial, Mr. Weis will replace Denise Faltischek, executive vice-president, chief strategy officer and corporate secretary, who will leave the company on Aug. 31 to pursue other opportunities. During her 14-year career with Hain Celestial, Ms. Faltischek recently was involved with the sale of WestSoy tofu seitan and tempeh business and the pending divestiture of the Hain Pure Protein businesses. For more than eight years, she was general counsel at Hain Celestial. Her responsibilities as corporate secretary will transition to Kristy Meringolo, the company’s general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Mr. Schiller joined Hain Celestial as president and c.e.o. in November 2018. Since then, the company has shuffled its leadership significantly, hiring executives to oversee various functions, including supply chain, research and development, human resources and customer sales. Earlier in May, Kevin McGahren, previously president of Dancing Deer Baking Co., was named president of North America at Hain Celestial.
