NEW YORK — Godiva Chocolatier is partnering with General Mills, Inc. to expand into the baking aisle with the launch of a new line of baking mixes. Godiva said it is incorporating its signature chocolate into a product line featuring four dessert options: Molten Lava Cakes, Brownie Cheesecake Swirl, Raspberry Chocolate Torte and Flourless Chocolate Torte.
The baking mixes contain 72% dark Godiva chocolate callets, Godiva said.
“This is an exciting time for Godiva, as we continue to innovate and expand our portfolio with products that will bring us into consumers’ homes on a regular basis,” said Caroline Le Roch, president of Americas, Godiva Chocolatier. “When we started to create the premium baking mixes, we had to ensure that they were of the highest quality, so we knew that bringing on a partner, like General Mills, to do this was imperative.”
Ms. Le Roch was hired in April with the specific goal of taking the Godiva brand into new products and categories, accelerating its distribution channels, entering new geographies and launching experiential Godiva Cafes in key markets.
Roger Galloway, business unit director for baking at Minneapolis-based General Mills, said the company is excited to partner with an “iconic brand known worldwide for its quality chocolate treats.”
“In partnership with Godiva, we’re helping at-home bakers make impressive, decadent desserts to enjoy with their loved ones,” Mr. Galloway said.
The Godiva baking mixes may be found in the baking aisle of most major grocery stores and retailers at a suggested retail price of $4.99 for a 10.4-oz box.
