THOMASVILLE, GA. — Flowers Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for hamburger buns, hot dog buns and other bakery products due to the potential presence of plastic pieces.
The company said pieces of hard plastic may have been introduced during production and could potentially cause a choking hazard. No related illnesses have been reported.
The products being recalled were distributed to retail customers under several brand names, including 7-Eleven, Bravo, Clover Valley, Great Value, Grissom’s Mill, Hitchcock’s, Home Pride, Laura Lynn, Market Pantry, Members Mark, Natural Grain, Nature’s Own, Oven Fresh, Piggle Wiggly, Publix, Sedano’s, Sunbeam and Wonder.
The products were distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Flowers Foods said it initiated the recall after discovering small pieces of hard plastic in production equipment. Consumers should discard affected product it or return it for a refund.
