DECATUR, ILL. — Kevin Like has been named president of North American Flour Milling at Archer Daniels Midland Co. He will be responsible for the company’s flour milling businesses in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
Mr. Like has been with ADM for 31 years, serving in numerous leadership roles. Most recently, he was vice-president of commercial and sales. While most of his assignments at ADM have been in sales, he also spent time as a merchandiser in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and an assistant plant manager in Enid, Okla. Mr. Like holds a master’s degree in business administration from Millikin University in Decatur and bachelor’s degrees in agricultural business and economics from South Dakota State University, Brookings.
“The milling organization is core to our entire Carbohydrate Solutions business, and there is tremendous growth potential as we launch new sustainability and organic platforms and bring our new state-of-the-art facility in Mendota, Ill., online in the coming months,” said Christopher M. Cuddy, president of ADM’s Carbohydrate Solutions division. “Kevin’s leadership will be critical to driving all of these initiatives forward, and we are pleased that he has taken on this new role with the passion and energy he has brought to our organization for the past 31 years.”
ADM is the second largest milling company in the United States, the largest milling company in Canada and a major miller in the Caribbean. The company also operates flour mills in the United Kingdom. According to the 2019 Grain & Milling Annual published by Sosland Publishing Company, ADM operates 23 flour mills in the United States, 7 in Canada, 3 in the Caribbean and 1 in Central America. The company also has the capacity to mill ancient grains, barley, dry corn and, in the Caribbean, rice.
Mr. Like’s promotion comes three months after the company said it was moving sales and commercial staff members of ADM Milling Co. to ADM’s North American headquarters in Decatur. ADM Milling had been located in Overland Park, Kas., where a certain number of employees remain.
As president of the milling business, Mr. Like succeeds Mark L. Kolkhorst, who had been president since 2012 and in 2018 was named to a special assignment within ADM.
