LOS ANGELES — Scott Hargrove has been named executive vice-president and global chief marketing officer at California Pizza Kitchen.
He brings two decades of experience in tech, consumer packaged goods and lifestyle brands to his new role. He got his start at the Coca-Cola Co., leading billion-dollar brands like Sprite, Diet Coke, Powerade and vitaminwater. He was global chief marketing officer for the World Surf League before becoming head of brand and consumer marketing for Snap Inc. There, he launched a premium content platform for Snapchat and an augmented reality platform for Spectacle, the company’s wearable camera division.
Mr. Hargrove has led growth and marketing efforts for California Pizza Kitchen since joining the restaurant brand in February.
“Scott brings to our table an impressive record driving impact at some of the world’s most beloved consumer and tech brands, with a unique blend of digital savvy, creative storytelling and global brand building expertise,” said James F. Hyatt, chief executive officer and president at California Pizza Kitchen.
Mr. Hyatt said the company is focused on menu evolution and innovation as well as guest communication and experience. Last week, the brand announced it is rolling out take and bake pizzas at locations nationwide. In May the company unveiled new menu offerings featuring fresh fruits and vegetables.
