Panhandle Milling unveiled a new line of certified gluten-free flours and grains at the 2019 International Baking Industry Expo in Las Vegas. In recent months, Panhandle Milling has worked to certify a designated gluten-free area in their Monticello, Ill., facility. This innovation ushers in a new product portfolio under the Panhandle Milling name.
The products within this line include teff, amaranth, quinoa, rice and chickpeas. Panhandle’s equipment ensures that even the smallest grains — like amaranth and teff — are milled into a consistent flour that can be used for gluten-free baking. Both conventional and organic options will be available for much of the portfolio.
“We are very excited about the opportunities that our new certified gluten-free capabilities will be able to offer our customers,” said Sheena Dau, associate vice-president, sales and brand management at PHM. “Our core values at PHM Brands are our people, our quality and our customer. Our customers are our partners, our focus and our future. We have heard their needs loud-and-clear and are excited to offer another item within our portfolio.”
All of Panhandle Milling’s certified gluten-free products will be available out of Monticello in 25- and 50-lb bags.
