LA MADELEINE, FRANCE — Jean-Philippe Azoulay has been named vice-president of Roquette’s pea and new proteins business. He succeeds Pascal Leroy, who has moved to a new leadership role within the company.
Prior to joining Roquette, Mr. Azoulay was global director of DuPont’s nutrition business and, until recently, director general of the European Crop Protection Association.
“Roquette is a key actor of the massive global shift in food,” said Jean-Marc Gilson, chief executive officer of Roquette. “We are investing half a billion euros over five years to meet the increasing global demand for high-quality pea protein, a high value-added nutritional and functional solution, which offers many benefits to farmers, our customers and consumers alike.
“Furthermore, in the interests of developing pea proteins for both a better nutrition and a healthier planet, we are only sourcing peas of a specific quality that respect the environment, a strategy that is fully aligned with our sustainable development approach. With his wide experience, Jean-Philippe will play a key role to consolidate Roquette as a pioneer of plant-based specialty proteins for food, nutrition and health markets.”
