NORWALK, IOWA — Post Holdings, Inc. subsidiary Michael Foods has opened a new facility in Norwalk, Iowa. The 150,000-square-foot location will process eggs and precooked egg products and is expected to create more than 150 jobs, the company said.

Employees and guests celebrated the grand opening on National Manufacturing Day, which is held the first Friday of October. The annual celebration emphasizes the industry’s importance to the U.S. economy and highlights advancements in modern manufacturing.

Mark Westphal, president of Michael Foods, said Norwalk was chosen for its proximity to the company’s supply chain. Michael Foods produces and distributes an extensive portfolio of egg and potato products along with a variety of specialty foods offerings. Its brands include Papetti’s, Abbotsford Farms, Simply Potatoes, Owens and Bob Evans.
