ROME, GA. — Southeastern Mills has opened its first new distribution center in 20 years. The 140,000-square-foot project so far has had a $6 million impact on the local community, according to the company.
“We’re excited to celebrate the opening of our new distribution center,” said Josh Trammell, business unit leader at the Center for Superior Logistics for Southeastern Mills. “This ground-breaking space will allow us to continue our history of excellence in service to our customers, provide avenues for continuous improvement through warehouse layout and state of the art equipment and position us well for future growth.”
Southeastern Mills also recently opened a new culinary innovation center in Rome, Ga. The new space features an open commercial kitchen for professional filming, a dedicated sensory workspace for customized product showing and analytical equipment for product testing. The company, which specializes in biscuits, gravy and concentrated food bases, currently operates three manufacturing facilities in Rome, Ga., and New Iberia, La.
