SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In response to consumer interest in plant-based dining and flexitarian diets, Denny’s has joined forces with Beyond Meat to add a plant-based patty to its menu.
The new Denny’s Beyond Burger features a plant-based Beyond Burger patty topped with sliced tomatoes and onions, lettuce, pickles, American cheese and sauce served on a multigrain bun.
"We could not be more excited to announce this game-changing partnership with Beyond Meat," said John Dillon, chief brand officer for Denny's. "As a company we strive to evolve with the tastes and demands of our customers, and we knew finding a plant-based option that met our incredibly high-quality standards and taste expectations was critical in staying at the top of our game. The new Beyond Burger at Denny's offers guests a great tasting burger."
Denny’s Beyond Burger is currently available at all Los Angeles area locations, and the chain is planning a national roll-out in 2020.
"We're working to make delicious plant-based meat as accessible as possible and believe the Denny's Beyond Burger will be well-received by longtime fans and new guests alike," said Tim Smith, vice-president of North America food services sales for Beyond Meat. "Through our partnership with Denny's, we look forward to introducing more families to the nutritional and environmental benefits of consuming plant-based meat."
Denny’s is the latest in a line of restaurant chains that have recently added Beyond Meat plant-based products to the menu, including Famous Dave’s, KFC, Hardee’s, Subway, Dunkin’, Carl’s Jr., Del Taco, Tim Hortons and Taco Del Mar.
