WASHINGTON – Christine Cochran, executive director of the Grain Foods Foundation, celebrated after securing a foul ball Oct. 25 during Game 3 of the 2019 World Series at Nationals Park in Washington.
The ball was struck in the third inning by Nationals’ outfielder Adam Eaton, who played a pivotal part in the team’s victory over the Houston Astros in seven games. The championship marked the first ever in the World Series for a Washington team.
Of the foul ball, Ms. Cochran said, “It was a dream come true, but when you didn’t even know it was a dream.”
