Argentina has been placed on the summer watch list for possible dryness issues because of the recent development of high pressure over a part of the nation.

Summer grain and oilseed planting in South America is moving along aggressively with improvements in soil conditions noted in Argentina over recent weeks ending a dry start to the growing season.

Dryness in October and November is not unusual, but the failings this year may have been in September rainfall.

Relief from long-term dryness already has occurred to portions of the Central U.S. Plains and across much of northern and central Europe while improvement is under way now in portions of the western Commonwealth of Independent States and India.
