KANSAS CITY — Certified gluten-free claims are cropping up more and more often in new product launches.
Pamela’s Products is launching a new line of gluten-free pastas and pasta meals that are certified gluten-free. Made with white rice flour and sprouted brown rice flour, Pamela’s pasta products are Non-GMO Project verified, U.S.D.A. certified organic and offer 8 grams of pea protein per serving. The dried pastas are available in four varieties: penne, rotini, elbows and spaghetti. Additionally, Pamela’s will offer pasta meals featuring its new gluten-free pasta paired with sauce packets made with 100% cheese, the company said. Providing 13 grams of pea protein per 2-oz serving, the meals come in four varieties: Mac N’ Cheese, Spicy Mac N’ Cheese, Creamy Alfredo and Creamy Mushroom.
GeeFree Foods is adding frozen microwavable sandwich pockets to its certified gluten-free lineup. The sandwiches come in three varieties: Sausage, egg and cheese; Buffalo chicken; and cheese pizza.
Pereg Natural Foods is debuting a new line of certified gluten-free Quinoa Bars that were created to be a “healthy alternative to candy bars,” the company said. The bars are also vegan, kosher certified and non-bioengineered and come in four varieties: Sundried banana, nuts and berries, spirulina and cocoa nibs.
