ST. LOUIS — Panera Bread Co. will begin offering a double bread bowl at select restaurants in Philadelphia starting Aug. 5.
According to an article in The Inquirer, the new menu item will feature two holes carved into one loaf of bread. The holes may be filled with any Panera soup or a macaroni and cheese combo.
The newspaper described Panera’s latest innovation as a marketing effort designed to encourage meal sharing.
The limited-time offer is expected to last until Aug. 31.
