From day one our mission has never changed: To make good things for and with good people.
The ways in which we accomplish this goal have expanded across the continent, been invented and reinvented as needed, and embraced the supply chain more fully than ever. With each step, the roots of our original mission continue to grow.
We began in 1986 as a small oat milling company in Oregon. With an eye for finding the right fit at the right time, we have grown steadily ever since. Siemer Milling Company processes soft wheat into a variety of food and feed ingredients: flour for breadings & batters, crackers, baking mixes, cookies, southern-style biscuits, and pretzels; bran for baked product inclusions; and wheat germ. Our heat-treated flours provide a validated low-micro solution for ready-to-eat batters and inclusions, and natural alternatives to chemically-modified starches. We maintain successful long-term relationships with our customers based on reliably consistent product, devoted service, and a commitment to mutual respect and trust. Our mills are located in Teutopolis, IL, Hopkinsville, KY, and West Harrison, IN, all in the lower Ohio River Valley. We employ 190 persons, buy 28.5 million bushels of wheat each year from local growers, and produce 850,000 tons of wheat products — all of which make significant contributions to the economies of our communities.More
Our specialty line of all natural Heat Treated (HT) flours replace chemically modified starches, providing critical attributes needed for thermally processed foods as well as dry mixes. Our stabilized germ can replace chemically defatted wheat germ and a new natural process perfectly mimics chlorinated cake flour. And because food safety is paramount, we provide flour treated for applications that are potentially eaten prior to applying a kill step – such as cookie dough, ice cream inclusions or seasoning blends – to reduce risk to your customers and your reputation.
